Well, first of all, it's because 5th and 6th gear are pretty much the same by default. IDK why Mihon scripted it that way, but he did. These are the specs I usually use:
1st: 2.97 2nd: 1.97 3rd: 1.43 4th: 1.00 5th: 0.74 6th: 0.50 Final drive: 4.11 Blistering acceleration, and blazing fast top speeds. Note that those are the Tremec T-56 gearing. It's difficult to set those exact ratios ingame, but you can get close enough to simulate it. I've found that lower HP cars in SLRR have a difficult time using 6th gear with a numerically lower final drive ratio, but a 4.11 or numerically higher gear can make it usable. IRL, the 0.50:1 6th gear will make a 4.11:1 gear act like a 2.05:1. In other words, high speeds! added through 7 minutes Also, sometimes when using lower HP cars, I set 5th to 0.82 and 6th to 0.64. But with higher HP engines, I use the settings I posted above. This post was edited by JAG (2010-07-29 14:40 GMT, 41 days ago) |
