1 - Dude, this is the Rims & Tyres topic, not the Rotary one...
2 - forget about the mazda pack, you'd better use backa's RX-7 (until MisterSir finishes his own FD )
3 - for the rotary to work properly you just have to copy the parts folder to your SLRR directory...is it so hard to read a readme ?

well i did it in max 5 so there is no cylindrical or box mapping, theres just X,Y,Z,average axis. what you do is you seperate the whole tire in 3(not physicaly seperate the mesh im jsut saying think of it as 3 pieces), you can do more than 3 if you want to. then you do the UV map for each of those pieces with average axis map, and then align them. what i did is i straightened out the map in the UV editor so it looks like un unfolded cylinder(aka rectangle), and ye just align them and it should give you something like this. I have to redo mine add some more shading to them cuz im not realy happy with the way it looks. even doh it has the grooves it still looks only like a texture on a cylinder

added through 5 minutes

btw i realized something was wrong with my hipari tire mesh so i fixed it, now the tire isnt stretched to the complete width of the rim

oh i figured out a perfect drift set up btw:
get a car with an engine that has about 700hp
put on the Emer Nonus Street GT suspension, and my K-Sport shocks and springs(those orange ones u see in teh pic above), slap on some huge brakes in the back and smaller ones in the front, and put ur favorite drift rims and some tires on, and the car should handle perfectly for a drift, should be able to keep long drifts going for a while

fixed up some more stuff with the UV map, and the material made it look less matt, and more like a brand new waked tire

Too late, i was using those settings (but using MP setup instead of Standard Emer or stock V6) with all my drift cars...plus if you also have a steering wheel, it makes magic

And the tyres are really nice, now they look shiny but in a good way...(kinda reminds me of a taxi driver i know that polishes the sidewalls every week with silicone paste)

alrite got bored of my konig rims and a friend suggested i make better rims for my rx7, so i started on some Rays Sebbon Eddition, here is a render of the model with a falken tire on and 70% of the texturing done. im actually doing some clever texturing on this one making parts of it look highlighted when their not.

added through 31 seconds

its somewhere in the 2000 poly range

the tire is a 3d-2d hybrid, the vertical grip lines are actually 3D you just dont see it from this angle, it saves ALOT of polys and is more or less best look you could get after full 3D model.

added through 32 seconds

look at the ingame pics higher you can see it there
